WHERE ARE OLD BOTTLES FOUND?

There's several ways to acquire old bottles. Most collectors like to dig for them in various places. There are also antique bottle shows, other collectors to trade with , buy from , or sell to. Additionally attics, basements, and crawl spaces can be a source for old bottles.

Probing is a method used to locate trash or privy pits

Sinkholes and rocky embankments may,too.

From other Collectors is good,too.

Old city dumps - (yes, women dig,too)

Construction sites.....

Bottles found at a demolition site

Rarely found is old bottling company's stored supply.

Hillsides and hollows may conceal old bottles

Ravines and gullies

Cisterns were often filled with refuse

...and water.....

"Strip-digging" - used in large shallow dumpsites

Outhouse or "privy" pits

Abandoned homesteads may produce bottles

A rare sighting of an Appalachian Sasquatch (behind my son, Michael).

These guys must work for the City....

Bottle shows are a definite source.
