Bristol didn't have many bottling companies and it seems Coca-Cola had the lion' s share of the market in the early years. In one instance they bought out the less than one year old Holston Bottling Company in 1908, and thus halted the production of Koca-Nola and Dr. Pepper, along with other beverages Holston was bottling. About 1916, Pepsi-Cola established a plant here  but it didn't  prove to be viable for long. Only one Hutchinson bottle and only one blob top beer bottle are currently known: J.W. Waynick Steam Bottling Works.
Dixie Bottling, Rush Bottling, and Holston Bottling had seltzer bottles, but only one intact Dixie is known.  The Rush seltzer bottle was yellow amber glass with etched lettering. The Dixie & Holston were both clear with etched letters.
